This is a home built in 1978. Wood framed chimney which definitely exceeds 30" in width. The roof covering is new within the last 5 years or so. Could ventilation blockage be the cause of this discoloration. ....Attic is ventilated by eaves vents/exhaust fan. The eaves are blocked with insulation. Here's a first for me. This is a 1981 home but this roofing was supposedly installed in 1998. Hard plastic, sort of hollow with ridges like some composite decking. All of the "shakes" were badly curled and had obviously also gotten brittle as indicated by many broken shakes, many of them snapped.....Read More
